We created Colonial Dental Plans as an alternative solution to help you access affordable, quality dental treatment. Our plans are flexible dental savings plans that you can start anytime and use in place of, or in combination with, dental insurance.

Elite Dental Savings Plans
For each member, the Elite Plan includes:
1 regular exam, routine x-rays, 1 oral screening, 2 cleanings, 2 fluoride treatments, and up to 20% off of other services
Standard
For each member, the Standard Plan includes:
1 regular exam, routine x-rays, 1 oral screening, discounted cleanings, and up to 10% off of other services
Elite
For each member, the Elite Plan includes:
1 regular exam, routine x-rays, 1 oral screening, 2 cleanings, 2 fluoride treatments, and up to 20% off of other services

Answers to questions you may have about choosing a plan
Our dental savings plans are an excellent alternative to traditional dental insurance. Usually, dental insurance functions based on the calendar year, whereas this plan allows for additional flexibility starting on any day of the year (of the patient’s choice) for maximum benefit to participating patients. As a member of one of our plans, you’ll have access to a network of participating dentists in Rhode Island and Connecticut that offer their services at a discount. Save money on quality dental care when you need it – it’s a win win.
No, there are no requirements to purchase Colonial plans. No credit checks or health surveys. Once you purchase the plan, you’re covered.
Our Standard Plan for Families allows coverage for up to four (4) immediate family members from the same household (including yourself). If you need to add additional immediate family members, the cost of each additional family member is $49 (adults or children). Our Elite Plan for Individuals is $299 for the first plan member, and can be expanded to include additional immediate family members (adults or children) for the cost of $259 per additional immediate family member. Once added, each plan member has the same level of benefits available.
As soon as you purchase a Colonial Plan, it is effective immediately for one year. You’re welcome to start using it with any of the participating offices listed here. Unlike traditional dental insurance, which is based on the calendar year, your Colonial Plan starts the day you sign up and you can access the benefits immediately.
You may upgrade your plan within six months of signing up and pay the difference for the higher plan coverage. Your upgraded plan will become effective for one year from the upgrade date. At this time, we do not allow downgrades within the effective one-year plan period. However, if you choose to renew with Colonial at the end of your plan period, you may opt for a different plan with less coverage for the following year.
When you sign up for a plan, you’ll be asked to choose a treatment provider from our participating offices. But our plans are flexible if you decide you need to transfer to one of the other participating offices in the future, please contact our team at plans@colonialdentalplan.com and we’ll be happy to assist you and handle the records transfer.
